Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ESPO Fret (“ESPO Fret,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. We’ve tried to keep it plain and honest. If anything here is unclear, email us at anthonye@aexperiences.studio.

The short version

Most of what ESPO Fret remembers — your name, your level, your lesson progress, your practice streak — is stored on your own device and never leaves it. When you chat with Brian, your message is sent to our AI providers so he can answer. When you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Things you type or say. When you ask Brian a question (by text or by using the microphone), we process that message to generate his reply and, if voice is on, his spoken audio.
Saved on your device. Your first name (if you enter one), your skill level, which lessons you’ve completed, your practice streak, and your settings are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. We don’t copy this to our servers.
Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details directly. We receive only confirmation that a subscription is active — not your full card number.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit) to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

To run the app: deliver lessons, the tuner, the Highway play-along, and your coach Brian.
To personalize gently — for example, greeting you by name.
To process and manage your subscription.
To keep the service secure, fix problems, and improve it.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:

Anthropic — powers Brian’s written responses. Your messages to Brian are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. (Anthropic privacy)
ElevenLabs — powers Brian’s voice. When voice is on, the text of his reply is sent to ElevenLabs to create the audio. (ElevenLabs privacy)
Stripe — processes subscription payments. (Stripe privacy)
Vercel — hosts the website and serves the app. (Vercel privacy)

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or our company. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Data stored on your device stays until you clear it (you can remove it anytime by clearing your browser’s site data). Subscription records held by Stripe are kept as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and accounting obligations. Messages sent to our AI providers are handled under their respective policies.

Your choices and rights

On-device data: clear your browser’s storage for espomusic.com to erase your name, progress, and settings.
Voice: you can turn Brian’s voice off at any time with the speaker button, and the microphone is only used when you tap it.
Your subscription and personal data: to access, correct, or delete information, or to ask a privacy question, email anthonye@aexperiences.studio. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.

Children

ESPO Fret is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. (Our separate kids’ learning products, when offered, are handled under their own child-privacy terms.) If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and our payment and AI providers maintain their own safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll change the effective date above, and significant changes will be reflected here. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
